  7. What lovely words and a beautiful image.

  8. Lovely statues, makes me wonder where they are, who they are, if anyone.

    • It is currently at the end of the driveway at our cottage. A previous tenant left it. I often wonder if it was modeled after particular people or if they were strictly from the artist’s imagination. I find it very romantic the way the man is holding the woman and they appear to be looking off into their future together.

      • I agree, very romantic. And lovely and happy welcome at the end of your drive.

  9. Very deep. Reminds me of Lot’s Wife – looking back into the sin, and being turned into a pillar of salt statue. Or perhaps interview with a vampire, the female vamps turned to ashes clasping each other as daylight shone on them.
Statues are quite evocative – like a 3d snapshot of time and feelings. Love this.

    • I’ve never quite understood that passage of the bible: Lot’s wife turned into a pillar of salt for looking over her shoulder. Seems a bit of an overreaction or even why this was a crime is not explained.
It’s easier being an secularist! 😉

Great quote to go with the statue!

  10. That’s a interesting statue and quote. Thanks for sharing.
